The Discworld MUD

Now, I suppose introductions are in order. A MUD, or a Multi User Dungeon/Domain/D-whatever, is a text-based game, generally an RPG. And Discworld is one of the biggest, best, and longest-lived MUDs. While most people will close the window right now, I encourage you to give Discworld a try. You can reach the MUD's homepage at http://discworld.atuin.net -give playing it a try. The Java client will do for your first experience, but if you're interested I suggest picking up MUSHClient- it has a great interface, is easy to use, and hugely customizable. You can get it at http://www.gammon.com.au/mushclient/mushclient.htm -it's a trial, but you just have to wait a few seconds before you can use it, nothing bad.

Now, I'll be going into some detail about different things about Discworld- a miniature guide. I'll cover the Basics of Discworld,a Newbie's Guide to Discworld, and go into some detail about Guilds, especially my favourite, the Wizard's Guild. Also, you might want to check the Discworld Links for other guides worth a look.
